Social Workers Assaulted by Angry Mother
A local authority has been fined after two of its social workers were attacked when they carried out a home visit. What should employers do to protect staff in similar situations?
In this case a risk assessment had not been completed and appropriate training had not been given.
It’s not only lone workers that are affected by the risks of violence during home visits. Put in place the right procedures and training. Make sure safety information is shared and that staff can raise the alarm when on site.
