Must you use Edge Protection

Following a fatal fall from height, the HSE built a case against the builder in which it was alleged that he failed to ensure suitable edge protection and was therefore responsible for the accident. What happened in court?

The court found the builder not guilty, as it could be proven that he had followed the hierarchy of controls identified in the Work at Height Regulations 2005.
To go for option such as a roof anchor system, you must prove that it’s impossible to avoid work at height and it’s not reasonably practical to install edge protection.
